Were the wood look boats actual laminate? Or were they a painted thing?
this is beautifull!
Thats some good looking mahogany right there. I talk a guy named Harlan Orrin a couple of weeks ago that restores old wood deck boats. He uses 1/4 venners for the decks. Just to give you a little history on the guy. In 1965 he held the record at 126 mph in a v drive hydro looking boat. He also work at Sanger in the 70's and designed the 20' double bubble daycruiser and cut up the shovel nose hydro to make it a pickle fork and get rid of the lift. I believe he said he worked on the Hallett Vector, one of my favorite hulls. Tige' ski boats was another one he built molds for.Up until recently did a bunch of plugs/molds for Commander. One of his wood deckers was on display at the Long Beach races a few weeks ago.

I'm trying to get the home computer working so beside showing a great retro paint job I'm seeing if the box @ home is working ok.  The Boat is Excalibur, Craig Millet's second Rogers, an 18' Bubble Deck Cyclone. The scheme was typical of the time but the detail and multi dart details were much more complicated than typical.

Hey Wizard what year was that Rogers.
Here are the before and after pics of mine. As you can see it had the much simplified dart on the deck.

Excalibur must have been around 1974-75.  Ken Myers at B&K Boat repair did the cap and the paint. Another guy named Tom did the lettering and numbers out of Bellflower.

Yes it is. The pic that you are refering to has 3 or 4 of the guys standing between the Excalibur and the Raspberry.

Taco'd "a person or people that show up with one lake lice and a family of 50 and cram 3 people at a time on it with no disregard to boating rules or ethics. Usualy crap in toilets and throw shit paper in trash cans. Hang out at the boat ramp like its a swimming hole. Have zero insurance on anything they own and dont give two shits less about your property."
