I recently snagged this as a project because the deal presented its self and I've always wanted a retro speed boat with the metal flake paint that I remember breaking my neck to look at as a 7 year old.The boat measures just under 16ft and is packaged with an Olds 455 followed by a Berkley JE pump. The engine is currently on my stand and receiving a fresh set of main/rod bearings as well as a polishing of all the journals. Upon inspection, the K heads have already had drilling modifications to help the return flow of oil back to the sump. The block has been bored 20 over and will only need a light de-glazing. re-assembly will include a Mellings HV oil pump and exhaust crossover block off. I'm trying to have a good time on a budget so I won't be getting wild with this Olds.
I'd like to acquire some of the original badges, decals and trim pieces if possible.Any info on the hull or finding an oe/aftermarket parts manufacturer would be of greatly appreciated. The vin leads with RSM and ends with 75 but I can't find any info on the manufacturer beyond '73. Google shows pics of 72-73 Rally Sport Marine and it is similar in appearance but there are discrepancies including the dash's shape, windshield and slope up in the body line appears steeper in other photos than mine.
