Redo on my long deck

Ran it for a year didn’t handle for shit, so tearing it apart again. Moving the strut and shorting the cav plates, also redoing the geometry on the plates. It worked ok but would not take a set unless I had a foot full of down pedal

Cut 4” off the plate and got the new 1” cav plate bar and pillow blocks mocked up. Got rid of the 7/8 bar

Got the new transom block plate made new holes drilled, also pulled the tanks out, amazing the kind of stuff you can find behind the right tank, hoping to have it back together for the first SoCal meet in Parker

Damn,, the vdrive stuff is so fun, but so personal, why would you shorten the cav plates? Troy Davis has been trying to help me,as much as I'll let, he's telling me I need two inch longer plates, to make my short boat think it's longer, I'm still fighting handling issues, I think I need more power to carry the nose, my boat after all the changes iv made still won't take a clean set even staying all the way down on the cav petal.. unless it's me fucking it up by not letting the turd get loose and fly.. idk..

Fuck, for all I know it could be a prop pitch issue I guess, troy really wants me to let him scale my boat to find where the weight needs to be, he's been doing this shit forever I should probably let him do whatever, he's gotten me this far and it's way better, I just didn't have the time to let him have the boat for the other stuff.. cuz I'm a stuborn knucklehead. . Lol troy and skip are wealths of knowledge, but I'm always on a time crunch and they are very busy!! Lol

Looks like your problem is backwards from what mine is, I can’t keep mine in the water. My plate where 12” long way to long for the powder I’m pushing, they are still 8” that’s the length I had on the 034 and it worked good, I also might move the prop back some

My boats constantly wanting to porpoise and fly, jumping out of the water no matter how hard I'm down on the cav pedal...it's way better then it was before, . I moved the engine forward ,moved the casale way forward , took a bunch of strut angle out of it, regeared the casale added a shaft release,, I can run it till it bangs the Rev limiter, but and I say but cuz it feels sketchy as hell cuz it never stops bouncing!!

Have you tried different props, props make a huge difference on these things, sound like you need one with less rake to it, moving prop shaft back helps too, in the K I put 3 quarters in the prop shaft coupler to space it back, it helped lay the nose over a little

Almost have the cav plates done, waiting on a stuffing box so I can bolt the plates in. After re working the down pedal and putting in a new cav rod I have 1 1/2” on the down now. Also got all of the red pin striping done, trying to make a turd look kinda good, April meet is looking good for this thing

It's not rare, most or all circle vdrives are setup that way, helps them turn left, like my vdrive the engines backwards and it always wants to pull right, I'm always sawing left on the wheel to make it go straight...

Thanks, it’s no show boat but it’s fun.

Not as rare as it seems, it rolls in the prop through the corners when you turn left, some drag boats in the 60’s even ran off the front of the crank
