For rolling in shallow waters and in corners, the boulders can be nasty  >:D

Is that the white water turbine boat that's been walking away from all the v8's this year?

The boats name is "Burning Desire" it was built by Tim Harding in Oregon (with the help of a lot of other folks) piloted by Tim and Ryan Ringer (these guys are nuts). My dad, son and I went to Oregon to see these guys in action, Check out www.jetboatracing.com (http://www.jetboatracing.com) for next years schedule updates, its a must do!

Tim made a 38 mile river run in 18:33 (thats minutes and seconds!!!!) :screwy:

I assume the hull is a lot heavier than a fiberglass one?  Or are they just a lot more expensive?  Wondering why we dont see them down south on the lakes and rivers here.

The hulls are actually lighter than a lot of the fiberglass hulls used for pleasure boats, but heavier than those drag hulls you see, but they are very expensive to build, many times the hulls are actually TIG welded, thats what makes them so pricey, there are very few people in the US that can weld like that, sometimes they use a MIG gun. but think of the price of aluminum, a crashed hull can be worth $3k-4k as scrap!

Wild looking nozzle set-up on that dude!
A fabricators dream hooking all that stuff up. Tons of machining also I bet.

Tim Harding (the guy that owns/built the turbin powered boat) actually built one of the first articulating droop snoots, the whole snoot went up and down, was way cool...He's very sharp!

Thought you might like this model, could you see this boat on the river?, I could, just don't have the "green".

38 miles in 18:33? that 123MPH average in a semi-V jet drive, over shallow rocky white water river? Was that up river or down?...and I thought Afgan rebels going up against 12,000 lg  laser guided bombs were crazy.

Actually that is an aluminum tunnel hull, but yeah, up river 18:58, down river 18:33.
