Title: 1978 Liberty for sale
Post by: Miss Leading on May 14, 2013, 11:18:56 AM
This is the Mother of all the Liberty Boats that followed. Hull # 780003--The first 2 were crushed and sent to boat heaven.
Christened "Misleading" it held the APBA 5 mile speed record in 1979. I have owned CJ890 since 1987. During that time we used it for skiing, fishing, drag racing, and just plain having fun on the water. You will never find a better handling, bulletproof jet boat anywhere.
She has a few scares and the original paint, otherwise she is 100% structurally solid. No excuses.
Sold less motor---$ 8000.  Additional motor parts and misc accessories sold separately.

I did bring Misleading to a couple of SCJB events a few years ago. I am now ready to give someone else the pleasure of owning Her.
She comes with 100% of the set up that made her the boat to beat in 1978/79. Nothing was removed or changed.
All she needs is a strong motor, some racing gas, and a fearless driver.
She can not wait to go racing again!!

I was sure someone would be interested in owning an historically significant, structurally perfect, and ready to circle race thoroughbred !!!
Like I said--all Misleading needs is a strong motor, racing fuel, and a fearless pilot.
She needs to get out of my warehouse, and into the hands of the right person. Please call and let's talk.
Thanks Brad !!! I remember meeting with you that day at Ming Lake.
I very much appreciated you adding all those pictures of Misleading to my classified ad.

Misleading now has a new owner!!!
You will be seeing Todd and his Liberty at your events real soon.
The number will be changed to CJ-303. The name will remain the same.
I am excited to have this thoroughbred back in the water where it belongs
I wish Todd well, and I know you all will be happy to see this championship boat competing once again.
Thanks again to Brad for posting those great pics, and to all of you for posting your encouraging comments!!!
