Posting for a buddy, very clean CP. Motor is 12:1 468 with flat tap Comp Cam. Runs very hard and handles great with a Jeff Bennett bottom. Very clean rigging and custom Comp fat fender low profile panel mount trailer. Looking for 27k turn key or 20k less motor. If you're interested, PM me for his number.

Bitchin pic and boat!
-
That is a awesome pic ,nice boat too. Is that the plane that was out at Elisinore for the fires.
-
I like the shape of that boat holding up that wing. Be a cool cruiser with a flathead V8 powering it. :)
-
That was it! The guy sitting in the driver seat is the owner/pilot of the plane. My buddy was talking to him and he invited him to bring the boat for a few photos.

I dont think the plane would go any faster though . :-\
Kind of puts things into perspective when when you talk speed in a boat . I tell people "Go "X" mph on a skateboard and then tell me it's not fast ."

The pilot was John Coughlin, but the owner is Wayne Coulson of Coulson Group... his son went along on that run too.
So if anyone would like a photo Op... ;D let me know, I'll plan a time for you to view and pose for pics under the 200 foot wing of that baby ;)

Those things are really bitchen for fighting alpine forest fires on relatively flat land/rolling hills, like in Canada... In reality when it comes time for them to drop a load on the SoCal wildfires they're more a PR stunt than they are effective. We just have too many canyons and such. Still looks awesome, do you know if they're mostly wood construction?

Just thought I would share a better look at where the Plane calls home.
First picture is of Mt. Arrowsmith, a hill I like to climb on weekends and from where I took the picture of Sproat Lake.

Next is the picture I took of Sproat Lake, where you would find that plane flying in and out of, like most puddles in Canada (B.C.)

a bit hazy, next time I'll take a better pic, but it gives you an idea of the flat lands up here and what that plane has to navigate when fighting fires ;D
Somewhere down there is where I Live along the river ;)

That is beautiful! If there's one thing Canada does well its Natural beauty, both in women and wilderness.... ;)
The mountains don't really have much vegetation to speak of up top... the tree tops below are what I am referring to.

Forgot to answer your last question UNDONE... all US steel ;D

really? That's pretty cool, I work at a major aerospace manufacturing company and I was going through some old drawings. I noticed a lot of the old planes had a largely wooden structure. Figured this might be one of them since it has to float and all. Good looking plane got to be bitchen watching it take off and land on the water. I've never been able to get video but at our lake house in Maine a pair of Navy F-18E's flies about 50 feet over the water. One of the most awesome sights I've ever seen.
-
They are fun to watch ;D
Some video can be found on Youtube if interested ;)

That was a very cool video.

Just heard this boat might be up for sale again if anybody came into some last minute money and want a bad ass boat. I think it will be complete or less motor. This thing runs very hard thanks to the Jeff Bennett bottom and MPD pump set up. I don;t think you could order a brand new one and get it to look the way it does with the amount of detail in it. The trailer takes the cake....
-
Owner says 17 less power and 15.5k less pump/power. Sick CP for somebody with a nice mill/pump combo in an old hull looking to upgrade....
