Clean 21' DayCruiser
« on: August 11, 2009, 05:47:10 PM »
I was just offered $5500.00 for my 1974 Cheyenne 21' DayCruiser. It has the original 455 olds (All stock minus carb rebuild and hei ignition) with a berkeley jet and manual diverter-jetavator. Engine/Jet both run great! All new wood flooring and seat frames with ALL new interior and side panels. New pioneer stereo with (4) 6.5" speakers (Sounds Great). Everything works (minus tach-hasn't been hooked up since hei was installed) Orig. gelcoat in good shape. HAS A TON OF ROOM under the front of the boat (the ol lady and I have slept under it a few times). Surge Brake tandem trailer with great tires on it! Turn key boat that is very RELIABLE! Woodgrain that wraps around boat is in perfect condition (have never seen another boat with the org. woodgrain in such good shape). Beautiful boat.
I'm not in a hurry to sell it...I just told the guy I'd think about it and let him know. What do you guys think? How much would you pay for it?

I'd give you $50.00 for it  ;D

But, I'm broke and been told I have too many vehicles already

Good looking float, I don't see any reason you couldn't get more than that.......

other than the economy  ;D

If you're looking to get rid of it or up grade to something different, there are some good buys out there right now.

That is one clean boat my man !!!     I wouldn't sell it for that, even if you only used it once or twice a year that boat should hold you for 30 years.

Or until the Obama administration is ready to take over boating too.  :banghead:

I know it! I really wouldn't want to take anything less than 6k for it...but with the way things are right now, who knows. I'll ponder on it for a bit...haven't used the thing in a month because the local lake is a mud hole! The damb is considered "unsafe" by the army core of engineers and have kept the lake at minimum capacity for the past few years now. This late in the season...it's only good for fishing. They've been working on a big expansion project for the past few years that's supposed to double the size of the lake...which is supposed to be executed after the damb is repaired/rebuilt in 2012. Should be nice once it's finally done. But sucks for the time being  :banghead:

Well, the guy came over yesterday with 5k cash in his hand and said he would take it away for me. I told the guy no...but he gave me his number and said to call him if I change my mind. Things are really tight right now and that kind of scratch would help A LOT! I know the boats worth at minimum 5500! I mean, the thing has all new floor, seat and engine cover wood(water treated of course) all new carpet and interior, new stereo which I installed, two brand new marine batteries, new aluminum fuel tanks, hei ignition....the boat plain kicks ass! What do you guys think? Anyone out there looking for a clean daycruiser?

How much do you like this boat?    How much do you use this boat?    If the guy lives nearby, maybe sell it to him on the condition that he lets you know if he decides to sell it in a few years.   It may turn out he doesn't use it as much as he expected to.
Another thing to consider, if money is tight now, do you honestly expect to have enough scratch to buy another boat in a year or two or three.   Right now the govt. is making things very difficult for average people to keep their heads above water.
Just some things to think about.    I haven't been out in a nearly a month and live 20 mins from one lake and 45 from another, but just knowing that I could go out tomorrow and chill just makes me feel good.

I don't want to go through the hassle of listing the boat locally....if anyone is looking for a turn key boat that is in great condition, this is it! I have been looking at other boats and understand that things are selling cheap right now. Summer time is creaping up and tax money is in...someone is going to be looking for a boat. The first $5,500.00 takes it.
If your interested, please send a PM. Thanks

I don't want to discourage anyone from buying your boat but if you really need to sell it by the end of the week you are gonna have to reduce the price a lot.
You first posted it here last summer for basically the same price and you still have it.   I'm just sayin' . . .

It is a real clean ride and worth $5K  IMHO but you have been fishing this hole for a long time now and you don't seem to be getting any nibbles.  Better call Craig  ::)

Hi There,
Any chance your Cheyenne is still for sale? I think I saw it on Craigslist last summer, I may be interested if its still available.
Thanks,
