This one seems like a pretty good deal, too bad it's got a Panther Jet though.  Anyone know anything about FM Marine???

http://www.adeex.us/used-cars-motos/nautic/fm-marine-25-daycruiser-jet-boat

Here's another FM Marine boat.  I called on it on Sunday and the guy said he had sold it the day before...  Apparently there's still boats out there being sold.

Had my Uncle go and check out this boat for me...  He snapped some pics as the owner wasn't able to, I'll share 'em with ya.  Give me your honest opinion what everyone thinks of this boat for $2500...  I like the fact that of course, it's  a Roger's and also that he only built two of them... EVER!

Owner says the motor was rebuilt approx. 5 years ago with around 30 hours since the rebuild.  The carpet and upholstery are supposedly 2 years new.  Obviously the trailer needs a lot of love.  But it seems like the boat could be spit shined pretty nice with a little time and elbow grease.

Feedback is appreciated.  Thanks!

Looks to me like its all there, not too bad, there are a lot of little things wrong with it just by looking at the pics; steering tube broke, funky ball joint deal on the tiller arm, goofy ride plate deal (looks to be about 1 1/2" above the keel), old school guages (look like old Medallion), not too bad....IMO probably worth the $2500, but not a lot more...I'm not a fan of the vacuum secondary carb if it really is a 500"er, you will probably throw $500 at the trailer..

Pretty much what I was thinking.  Not too bad.  I would see pump work, trailer love and a hell of a lot of freshening up.  He's got no documentation on the rebuilt motor and if you ask me, it doesn't look like anyone's touched it for a lot more than five years.  Good observations on the vacuum secondary and the funky ball joint on the tiller arm.  Looks like it came off a 1/4 scale r/c car suspension or something.  The ride plate looked really funky to me too.  The hole boat just looks a bit neglected and the work done to it is hodge-podge.   ??? ???

My only problem is that for something that's this much of a project to make it my own, the price is still a little steep for my liking.   ??? ???

My first thought was an '18...  Then I started thinking that I'd rather not have to worry too much about choppy water and not enough storage for a comfortable day trip with 2-3 passengers.  So most likely a mini day cruiser will be what I buy.  You never know though.  I've got time and patience.  Not going to jump on something unless it really tickles my fancy.

Thanks Brad.  Yes there is.  So many boats to check out and just so little time to do it.  My fiancee is getting sick of me spending so much time on the computer.  :screwy: She's gonna have to get used to it cause once there's a boat in the garage it's gonna be pretty much the same story.  ;D

Hey y'all... I'm still on the hunt for a boat and may be upping the ante a bit on the price range I was originally looking at spending.  Came across this boat and wanted to ask your honest oppinions on what you thought would be a fair asking price...

The original add reads as follows:

1983 Dana 22 FT OPEN BOW DAY CRUISER,I REBUILT THE BOAT FROM THE STRINGERS UP, ENLARGED THE SKI LOCKER FOR WAKE BOARD STORAGE, ALL NEW INTERIOR CUSTOM MADE, NEW GAUGES, NEW STEERING SYSTEM AND WHEEL, HYDRAULIC PLACE DIVERTER, THE JET PUMP WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT 5 HOURS AGO, NEW STEREO, ALL NEW WIRING, INTERIOR LIGHTS, NEW SWITCHES, ELECTRIC ENGINE HATCH, NEW BATTERY, NEW ENGINE, CUSTOM HEADRERS, THE TARILER HAS NEW BRAKES, TIRES AND BEARINGS. THE COVER IS CUSTOM MADE TO COVER THE TRAILER AND THE BOAT, IT HAS EXHAUST VENTS TO PREVENT MOSITURE BUILD UP. 2 BIMINI TOPS, REBUILT 468 BIG BLOCK CHEVY WITH, JE PISTONS, CRANE VALVE TRAIN, HOLLEY CARB, POLISHED INTAKE AND VALVE COVERS, POWDER COATED BRACKETS, NEW STARTER, 12 QUARTS OIL PAN, STAINLESS VALVES, MSD IGNITION CURVE TO MATCH THE CAM SHAFT. TWIN 35 GALLON GAS TANKS FOR A TOTAL OF 70 GALLONS SO YOU CAN RUN ALL WEEKEND NO PROBLEM. THE BOATS RUNS AWESOME AND CAN BE USED NOW ITS NEEDS NOTHING.

Honest opinions please.  I don't think the SCJB $50 is going to take this one...
