big ass boat, BUT if that's what you're looking for, that one seems to be priced right. Just make sure you do all the normal look/see test drive stuff.

Yeah, it is a bit bigger than the Tahiti bubbledeck i just sold but i love the Sleekcraft Executive. Its missing the passenger bench seat base completely and has some upholstery needs. Trim hydraulics are apparently acting sporatic, maybe a faulty switch or something according to the owner. Will have a much better idea after tomorrow.

If'n it were me, I would get him to come down a little....I'm thinking high 3K's
1978 Mercruiser I/O;s have quite a few weak links........On the plus side, the hull cutout is similar to the newer Alpha's and Bravo's so a repower would be pretty easy...
A big block Bravo would be the shizzle in that boat, I like those hulls, some friends of ours have two of them (his and hers)... :thumbup:

Hey, I have one of those sitting in my driveway. Planning to hook up a BBC to its jacuzzi jet and sell it this spring. I was thinking about $3500. A friend of mine had one with a 460/jacuzzi and it would run about 50 mph--maybe 55 downhill. Pretty heavy old boat--I felt like I was towing a battle ship, but I keep hearing that people that own them love them.

How likely do you think that is gonna be? I'd almost wait if its in better shape than this. Is it the one in your avatar?
This one needs some interior work, gel coat is flaking in places, and as GT Jets said, the mercruiser I/O isn't preferred and, therefore, is making me hesitant.
GT- what are some tips for buying an I/O in terms of inspecting the drive? I know well enough to look front/back or laterl play in the gimbal/ prop. But, i know that just scratches the surface. What do i need to do.

Just from reading your last post i would say, pass it up. If it is making you hesitant before you buy it, just wait to and see how you feel when it's in your driveway and you are finding more stuff that needs done than you originally thought. Its funny how fast a 1,000$ job can turn into $2000.
With today's economy, you can find your dream boat out there, just takes some looking. And the way most people are needing money, you can get a boat that is way better condition for less than it would take to do the interior on the original boat you looked at.
so, if it was me, let it go. But if it calls to you then there isn't much you can do about that. good luck with your search.
