Title: Looking to buy my first jet boat
Post by: Onaride1 on January 19, 2017, 07:23:54 AM
In the market for our first jet boat and we are looking around the 3k-4k range. Just trying to get our feet wet in the jet world.

Saw this on CL and it has socaljetboat stickers, anyone know of this boat and is it priced well. Not much information on the boat but thought it might have been someones on here before. Any information would be great. Thanks and cheers!

Hey there welcome to the forum. Doesn't look like a bad deal. Not the most popular motor but if it runs great and doesn't leak with a solid trailer and current registration on both can't get to hurt. Never buy anything without meeting at the lake and driving or riding in. You can easily buy a headache if you don't. My 2c

Kona is a good hull, but the big things you're going to need to look out for goes for any boat you look at...

Soft spots in floors, soft or rotted stringers, damaged impellers, water in oil, worn out/stiff cables.

If you can get a lake test that would help you know you're at least getting something usable at the moment.

Good luck with the search.
