I have a fresh 454 .030 over pump gas, hyd roller cam, edelbrock aluminum heads, single 4150 carb. About 500HP. $6000  I can text pictures.  Mike  949-690-4995  Also have a pump gas 638 inch but might be a bit much for your friend. About 800HP.

I have a perfect 454 take out.  Runs great I just replaced with a 555.  Even comes with a marine holley carb.  I would take 2k
