I'm selling my 1980 Southwind Dragster.... former Tom Papp Racing boat.
Gelcoat and hull are in excellent shape.
Asking $4000.00 obo or trade.
No Motor, pump or intake. All gauges, wiring, steering and cables are intact..
Just had bottom intake area repaired...
Located in Yuma, Az.

I put this boat into the boat shop to get the intake area reglassed and fixed by a professional.... I put some money into this Southwind Dragster because it is well worth saving..... I then found a nice placecraft and so... the Southwind Dragster is looking for a good home....
This is a nice boat and impressed alot of people on the water in its day and will again some day soon....

Hey Beav.... I think you are mistaken.......I have had the boat for awhile and paid alot more than what you stated.... either way..... Another Southwind Dragster is saved and ready for a passionate new home...I now have 8 boats or I would keep it.....

No the history does not matter. I was watching the boat when it was for sale the last time. Someone looked at it for me and I decided to pass. I was simply stating that the boat is getting passed around like a $2 whore. Nothing more.
Can I ask what you, or the shop, did to fix the intake area? Are you selling the boat with a trailer or are you still using the trailer from this boat for your placecraft?

Hey Beav.... The SWTD has a trailer in case the new owner decides to occasionally take it out of the water...not likely though...lol
Regarding the repairs: both sides of the pod were cracked way down into the tunnel area; the bottom left side of the center sponce had a 4' crack..... all the damaged areas had prior attempts to be repaired by silicon and JB weld....what a mess.....
Mickey Mouse is apparently in the house and once again into boat repairs these days.... someone also went over the areas with a ton of resin that did nothing to reinforce the damaged areas.....we even removed some big blisters that happen from the original layup....it really looks good....
For what it is worth.... this classic sweetheart is ready to spank anyone willing to call her out...the right pump and motor would wake up the meek....
