I bought this car to make a street car and then realized I have too many toys.
Everything is stock except it has new drop spindles. Has rust in all of the normal places( underneath battery tray). Let me know if anyones interested.

It appears I do. www.thesamba.com
VW's used to be my thing. Know way more about them than I care to admit.

Here is one, took me less than 2 minutes to find. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=562824 (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=562824)

Its a 67 too(lets be honest, probably one of THE BEST years to own if you're into the cal-look, which you clearly are if you bought dropped spindles. Classy car, many one year, first year and last year parts. The ultimate Cal looker.

And another. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=560204 (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=560204). A 66 in great shape for a lot less.

Not knocking your car. But in this market you are lucky to get 35 cents on the dollar for anything. Increase the price to 4k(not much more when it comes to cars) and the options get a lot better.

One last car- A project but tons of potential and very straight.http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=509069 (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=509069) again, cheaper...

Well the dash in mine is uncut , the only real rust is under the battery(like normal)and it runs. I just rebuilt the trans in it(3.88 R&P with a 1.09 4th), so it would be a great daily driver. I think 500 is a little bit of a lowball.

I also prefer earlier bugs, as apposed to later ones(63 and down). I cant stand the deck lids or tail lights on 67's. Although one of the more popular cars to make cal-look, I would have to argue not the BEST.

At least I waited until the car was sold.  ::)  Congrats on the sale.

We recently bought a '69 bug, 1600 dual port, twin dellorto's (sp?), cleaner than the '66 here, registered, driveable, straight, nice stock interior, for $700. Now the 16 yr. old is going to cut it up.  :-\

Every once in a while I'll miss my '62 baja bug  :'( .....

Then I remember how many times that damn thing left me waiting for a tow  >:(

Uhg, make it some sort of half asssed baja bug. Keep the steel fenders on it (uncut), raise the front and rear, already put large tires on the back and front 215 75R 15, put a grill guard on the front off of a pickup truck, and go off roading at Glamis, towing it with a 4Runner his dad is supposed to give him (yea right). He's talking about launching this thing with the steel fenders still on it. He's 16, younger mentaly, and already knows everything.

Get laughed at! ;D

Yep.

(BTW, to his dad... keep your mouth shut... I have a cell phone you can use whenever you're ready!  ;) )

Deck lids on a 67 are special. One year only. Worth a lot in good shape. As is the trunk, door handles, doors, last year metal dash, first year 12volt., last year euro bumpers.

My dad taught my sister how to drive a stickshift in a '66 bug. It didn't last very long. She kept flooring the gas and popping out the clutch. Front wheels up!
