Title: Want a happy wife? 1991 Mercedes 500SL
Post by: zudnic on April 18, 2009, 02:41:31 PM
1991 Mercedes 500 SL with all Books/Records

This is a 1991 Mercedes 500 SL with 127,700 miles. The previous owner purchased the vehicle in Seattle and always had it serviced at Wilson Motors (Mercedes Dealer, Bellingham WA).

The entire A/C system was totally rebuilt in June 07 ($3021.37) and blows Ice Cold. The tires are Michelin Pilots and were replaced at 121,100 miles. I just replaced the Radiator with a brand new Mercedes/Behr unit. The radiator itself was fine but the plastic side tank broke on the male connection for the hose.

The convertible top works perfectly (no leaks) and the hard top is included.

The only thing wrong with the car is the outside temperature gauge bulb is out so it hard to read at night.   $9,500 O.B.O..........

Not sure. Bought it 3/4 years ago from original owner. Older retired and didn't like top down driving. Sweet car but I want and need a better boat!

Had the 560 at one point. Nice cars, but performance wise rather have a 928S4 Porsche. Thinking one day I'll get a 560SL--

Sounds like my aunt. She wanted it until she found out how old it was. Miss when I got my license to early 20's and a 18 year old car didn't have fuel injection and more modern emission control bull sh$t... Harder to work on was/is my only complaint. Think by early nineties the only carb fairly easy 1970's technology easier to work on vehicle sold in the USA new was the full size Jeep Wagoneer/Cherokee. Oh, I want one of those one day.

Think the older still nice/excellent transportation car/truck deal is a guy thing!

Here's my thought on a happy wife, lol since that is what got me into this thread.

Cin apporved of this BTW, did this joke on her a few years ago, so I'm good on the karma side of it!

Rich guy and poor guy are in a bar, get to talking. Rich guy says "hey it;s my anniversary!" to which the poor guy says "no shit? Mine too!! What'd you get your wife?"

Rich guy says, " I bought her the most beautiful diamond necklace you can imagine, but just in case she hates it, I bought her a new Mercedes 650SL so she can go exchange it if she wants"

They drink a few more beers, and then finally, the rich guy asks, "What'd you get your wife?"

He looks in his beer and says" Well, I bought her some new slippers and a dildo. That way if she don't like the slippers she can go phuck herself."

Lol I love that joke,

Ray

Had one for awhile around 1996/7 time frame. O.K highway cruiser...... Along with a 300 and 190E 4 door sedan at one time as well................

I like older nice formerly expensive luxury cars with a following. Always at least get what I paid for them when getting another.............

Work is selling a 08 Yamaha 700 Grizzly non power steering for $5,000 o.b.o low hours and never abused. Thought Id mention it here instead of starting a new thread------
