Title: 10 lb nitrous bottle bad valve ..
Post by: 69kona on April 11, 2016, 08:52:11 PM: I been looking for a extra bottle and found this one for 50 bucks with a stripped valve (how does that happen?lol)
Is it worth it to buy and replace valve?

They will want to clean it also and yes it is close to 50 bucks. Just a pain in the butt to do.

There's a year limit I think is 3 years on steel 5 on aluminum

If nos bottles are like the ones I use for work, there should be a date stamped on the bottle letting you know when it will need a hydrostatic test. As Steve said should be 3-5 years depending on the bottle type

Should be the same! I know it's also the same for scuba tanks

But, Lee, you fill your own bottles. So it shouldn't be a big issue for you.

It's only places that fill that check

Yeah but if I need in a "pinch " to fill up elsewhere would be nice to have a certified bottle..
But cost of bottle 50
Hi flow valve eBay 30
80 bucks for that bottle or 150 for new .. 🤑

Bottle - 50
Valve - 30
Recertification - 50

130 for a steel bottle

150 for a new aluminum one!

Lol. Atleast most of them are. I have been looking for a second bottle. But I want one with a gauge that will read with the bottle off.
