I was wondering if I put a 10 quart oil pan on BBC would I have to make clearance for it when I put my engine in the boat? Also are they a good idea to have?

as long as you have a 4 pt. motor mounts, it will fit same depth, 10 qts. good insurance.

Buy used. Be patient if u can. But buy a jet boat pan, not a V Drive pan. Baffle doors work reversed. But if u find a v drive one for a good deal, you can reverse the baffles like I did. I paid $70 for mine. It needed minimal cleaning. Good luck.
