So... building the motor and went to the local speed shop and picked up some new rings. Even took them my old rings so that they could measure something and then they sent me home with a brand new box of Sealed Power e233 rings. Great.... right? Not so much :banghead:
When i go to install the piston, the oil ring (the solid ones that go on top and bottom) will not collapse enough to allow it to fit. I took a solid oil ring just to verify that there is no overlap, which there isn't so it's not too long. but when i put them on over the fancy looking middle oil ring, it wont allow the rings to close all the way. And that causes it not to fit. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
So any ideas? I have a stock 454 Gen Vi, stock pistons, with stock bore. I have been "googlein' all day but have come up with nothing. help..

Upon further investigation i found that the solid oil rings are fatter than stock. this being the cause of why they won't fit. But if anyone knows a part number for the correct ring set that would be great. :sly:
