Title: 455 needs some love around tahoe/reno

I got a old Tahiti with a 455 olds. Has ran great most the time but when I was running it yesterday the ground on the batterey came a lil loose and when I went to restart it out on the water a bad grinding noise is coming from the motor. It sounded fine when I turned it off but now it will not start just makes a grinding noise. Anyone recommend somewhere to take it or what could be wrong with it?

Sounds like the starter is not engaging all the way.

Start by charging your battery, fully

Put the battery back in and try it,if it does it still replace the starter.
