Title: 455 olds carburetor
Post by: lunchbox on May 14, 2012, 04:26:36 PM
I need some help... I just picked up a 73 Kona mini day with "fresh" 455... The guy told me it ran great and it started up fine and sounded strong when I picked it up... I took it out to big river this weekend and if you get on the gas too hard or your slowing down it floods out.... The carb looks like and older 750 double pumper with 73 and 67 jets... I can't figure out why it's doin that... Anyone have good jetting or carb reccomendations? It would be greatly appreciated

Does it flood for sure? There could be an air leak. The jets sound fine, that small won't flood the motor. Check the float levels also. They should be set about in the middle or slightly lower.
