Should I work with the stockers or buy aftermarket heads? Money vs Performance wise, what would be my best bet?
Thanks

Yes he is correct i run the 'k' heads on mine. But you do not have to have marine heads per say.
it all depends on what you are running as far as performance go's. I mean if you have the small valve units or the smog heads 'j' heads. Run away from them they are crap for performance and will only choke your engine. These heads should not be on a boat to begin with, but you never know what the guy before you has done.
So if you are thinking about buying aluminum heads to build a race motor, Great.
But if you just want more power and already have the big valve units. My opinion find a good maching shop and have them worked.
I can go on and on but really dont know what you are looking for? Are you building a motor? or just doing a top end. If thats the case you will regret it later when the bottom end starts to knock because you just raised your compression back up and the bottom end was comfy with what it had.
But then again NEED MORE INFO ;D

The K's are great heads but do not have the hardened valve seats. They were ment to be ran with leaded gas.
