Title: 455 olds repair/rebuild
Post by: Huklebuk on January 19, 2010, 04:27:02 PM
Alright, it's been a long time since I've been on, got back from afghanistan a couple months ago.  Now its that time to work on ye olde boat.  Before I deployed I had a problem with no fuel getting to the left bank.  Also had an oil leak, possibly the head gasket, so I'm going to just tear it down and give everything a once over.  I was thinking of changing out the cam (it is stock) and replacing it with something more performance oriented.  I found this little gem on ebay and wanted an opinion on if I should get it.  Seems like a pretty good deal, but I dont know shit about cams.  This can be viewed at this link:

I am also thinking of going a totally different direction overall look.  I plan on painting just about everything on it.  The headers included.  Has anyone used a high heat paint that they are fond of that works well?

Also, I am looking for a used air scoop, the kind with the butterfly openings.  Condition doesnt matter cuz it will get painted anyway.  Cheaper the better.  Aslo going to replace the guages and I can't remember who was selling them last time. Thats about it for now.
