What’s going on good people I’m having troubles starting the boat up. Replaced Intake manifold and carb over the winter with a new fuel regulator . Took out distributor without marking 🤦🏽♂️ location. Seems like engine is not getting enough fuel or spark. Maybe timing? Can anyone chime in with some help.
Also is the way I have my fuel regulator correct ??

Find tdc slide in distributor...then fire her up to do timing

I’m pretty sure I’m at TDC on the compression stroke but could be wrong. Using thumb method and I see piston at top ... insert distributor facing cylinder 1 . Anything else I’m missing?

Funny little thing we did when trying our first fire on my BFF is we had the distributor in backwards at TDC. Lets just say the engine didn't like that. Spun it around and BAM fired right up.

Is it weird or am I one off from cylinder one but with the spark plug out of cylinder 1 the engine wants to start up ?

I kept messing with the timing .. I’m thinking of getting new rotor and cap maybe it intermittent works.

Couldn’t hurt. Just get to TDC again and mark the shaft and #1 rotor location with a sharpy before removing it.
