We'll to start off I'm a newb to the jet boat community and the forum I just bought a 76 21' Tahiti with a 460 and it has a stock exhaust (logs and snails thru transom ) I love the look of OT headers if I were to get a set... (witch will be water injected) how do I go about tuning the carb? For the headers.. Or do I even need to? And.... How should I go about plugging the holes from the old exhaust? Without having to refiberglass and fill the holes...?.

You can get trans exhaust covers online. Your gonna loose your rear interior by going headers. They flare out an cause a grip of heat. Basically anything other than logs your changing the engine skirts. If you have thru bolt logs... You have the best style log. Check your snails for size...either 3 or 3 1/2. If they have the step down with both sizes you could cut and make it 3 1/2 for a tad more flow

What carb/jetting, intake, dizzy, plugs, compression,...bla bla ect. If it was built for a jet boat correctly thats a start. Pull a plug and have a look. Compare to a plug chart. What type of fuel pump and whats the gph on it... 80+ would be safe but I have a manual carter 42gph at 5-6lbs holley 850dp an its doing fine on my 466 BBF.
