I had my d3ve heads machined to accept some comp cams roller rockers. After installing the studs , guide plates, and pushrods, they all lined up nicely with the exception of cylinder # 8. The roller on both the intake and exhaust hangs over the valve tip about .050 toward the front of the engine. Will this cause a problem or can I call it good?

It will not cause a problem and you can call it good.
If you care to do so, you can saw the guideplate in half, reinstall each guideplate individually, rotate the rocker to position the roller wheel so that it isn't hanging over the edge of the valve, then tighten the rocker stud. It make take a few tries to get the guideplate correctly aligned after the stud is tightened.
