Okay I have Autolite 45 and my dove si heads and my plugs are black. I am 9.7 to 1 compression ratio what is the best plug that I can put in this thing and I did turn down the richness of my carb

I have R5673-7 #2817 NGK in my BBF Gapped at 35 Timed at 34* with holley 850dp 9.5/1 ratio. Run clean

IIRC, that spark plug is already fairly hot. I think 46 is the max. If you're fouling 45s I don't think it's a heat range issue but perhaps a mixture or ignition strength issue.

I was thinking about getting a new coil for my distributor its Mallory 385 series distributor because I have is old like 4 5 years

Okay so I changed all my plugs and I rewired my distributor because the pigtail wires we're 10 hot 12 to guage in the connecting wire to the terminal block was 14 so she seems to fire up better and I order the new coil but I'm waiting for it to come in and I'm going to get a new cap. With my Willys carburetor able to lean out my carburetor cuz they had it 1 click on the rich side all my spark plug gapped st 35 are grayish except number 8 had a little dark spot on it which when I looked up looks like spash foul but it didn't hit the the center of the plug but side the porcelain on the inside should I change that plug again
