i will be putting together my first TOTAL boat project over the winter. its a 21 ft Caribbean mini day cruiser. i will be running a 454 genV with Edelbrock air gap performer, holley 750 vac. sec., and HEI, all through log exhaust. it will have a Jacuzzi WJ (it came with the hull). what will it take to go 60 mph? is this easily possible? what are you guys with cruisers running?

i'd be happy with something close to that. what did it take?

The performance is in the pump.
I'd go thru it before dropping that mill in there, make sure its tight, right impeller, etc.
that combo should be close, depending on weight of your hull.
Mine goes 53-58, depending on weight in the boat, 454/berk
that wj may have an 'A' imp, but most likely a 'B' impeller.
Put a new wear ring in and shim it to spec

A stock marine power bbc that uses oil with 600 hrs and a fresh Mclure pump.
