Title: 750 Holley running super rich
Post by: 72_Glencoe on June 01, 2015, 08:23:02 PM: So i got the carb rebuilt. Holley 750 double pump. Slapped her back on. Standard air fuel mix. 2 an a quarter turns. I'm getting in burned fuel out the right header an black smoke out the left. Any ideas why?

Start simple.

Have the floats been adjusted?

Can you adjust out the richness?

Does it only idle rich and cleans up when the engine is sped up?

Can you see fuel dumping down the throat?

Did it ever run correctly?

Who built the carburetor?

Does it have a power valve?
