Title: Russel Aluminum plugs
Post by: 2savage4you on May 25, 2010, 01:15:13 PM: What is the secret to get these things to seal ? this is the second time i will have to take them out to fix the leak, all parts are new so WTF!!!

I normally use the steel plugs but these looked cool, should i get the steel plugs and try them? are these aluminum plugs prone to leaks?
Im using them in my fuel reg and its leaking like a mo fo , i mean it made a puddle on the intake really quick :banghead: :banghead:

Yes i am, Mallory's inst said no tape.

But now that i think about it, the compound might be old ???

Im going to Ace and get some steel plugs and new sealer..

So now i need to let the tape dry before i can start the engine........ Dont want any leaks ;)

Its running :thumbup:

Now i just need to time it , adjust the carb and the valves again then drive this bitch 8)

Yes but not your's ;)

I found a complete 383 with 1800 local miles , dart heads and the exact cam i was going to run soooooooo ;D
