Title: Another header gasket question!?
Post by: Spectra12 on May 26, 2017, 01:15:19 PM
I did a search and found nothing definitive. For those of you that use just rtv. Do you run a bead and let it dry and then install. Or tighten down  when wet.

I use the high temp RTV and tighten it down while it's still wet. Never had a leak. It all depends on how straight the mating surfaces are

Just realized header gaskets and not head gaskets.

Just realized header gaskets and not head gaskets.
I guess exhaust manifold gasket would have been a better explanation, but I'd definitely like to see some rtv head gaskets!
