OK I just found this http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofblk.htm (http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofblk.htm)

So I have an Olds 1968 made in Lansing, but I still don't know the Casting Letter.

Is there a letter approximately 1 1/2" forward of the oil filter adaptor?
Best pic I got of it.  :-\

there are no more readable #'s  in the area by the oil pressure sending unit there might be the remains of a D but that would make it a 67 and the stamped #'s indicate 68'

Well it is an F1 in Nickel content, that makes it the strongest 455 block.  It is bored .040 and I cannot feel any ridge with my nail.  I believe it to be '68 and it is for sale $200

NICE; a newbie, probably from HB, blasting a regular; maybe research posts to see if target has posted anything useful (along with some one-liners that don't mean much); you may see HotRod has contributed his share.

On the other hand, you're only 2 for 5:
For $300 I'll take um if he dosent.
may be useful

If I had $10,000 to spare I would buy that in a second.
not useful at all

Where is lake ming located at?
may be useful

That is a nice boat!

I don't know where I've 'complained', although I've said that I don't have $$ to spend on my boat right now (not to mention, I'll compare my credit rating to yours any day);
Nevertheless, that's a pretty clever come-back; goes to show that, although you're a jackass, you're not completely stupid.

HotRod and and I got off on the wrong foot a long while back; I'll throw out to you what I threw out to him:

I'd sure hate to get into an online joust ... Let's not go there ... hopefully this will end here; I don't want adversaries on this site; I'm >here< for camaraderie. Nevertheless, I can play it either way.

So, go back to lurking or become an asset to this community; btw, who have you helped out on this site?

I help the site by thinking if what i post will benefit the site before i post instead of posting stupid meaningless shit. Sometimes its better to say nothing at all. My post was a benefit to the site by telling hotrod to shut up for once.

And you are right , you don't really complain about being broke. You just repeat it over and over agin untill people feel sorry for and GIVE you parts. Too bad for you and hotrod they don't sell boat parts at the salvation army. ;D

Somewhere along the line we went form asking about IDing an Olds motor to a childish war zone.  I must have missed something somewhere along the thread.  I'll go back and re-read to see what I missed.   ??? ::)

Maybe you should just crawl back into your hole and make everyone much happier!  Learn to look before you ask such stupid questions!  I'll bet you're on welfare and expect everything handed to you.
