Steering column

Got to get the boat ready to be buffed out and not sure how the steering wheel adapter comes off.im assuming it needs to be taken off with a puller,on a tight budget and don't wanna f#@& this up

It's a tapered and keyed shaft similar to a Briggs and Stratton motor flywheel.

You can buy a little steering wheel puller from most auto parts stores for about $15.

Be sure to use a jamb nut down on the aluminum on the bolts,  you could pull the threads otherwise.

Also,  a little heat never hurt anything.
