Title: Banderlog Substitution
Post by: Jetaholic on November 20, 2007, 12:15:24 PM
So I thought about getting the Banderlog valve...

However, someone clued me into an idea that would be way cheaper to do. Out of curiosity, has anyone thought of getting an MSD RPM Activated switch and a solenoid valve? The RPM switch would run about $70, while the solenoid valve would run another $50-$60. For a total of $130-$140, you could have the ultimate in header water control.

Install a 2000 RPM pill into the RPM switch and you're good to go!

I'd like to hear everyones' opinions on this alternative.

I thought of the very same idea. Then you can just put in a 7k rpm pill when you race or dont want water at all. Let me know where you get it locally. I am in Merced.

Sounds interesting.  When you figure out the parts please supply part numbers and supplier(s).  Thanks.

I think I'm finding 2 of the parts at Summit Racing;
RPM Activated Switch   MSD-8950  $70.60
RPM Module, Adjustable, 1,000-3,000 rpm  MSD-8677  $22.80

I don't seem to know about the solenoid valves.

Sounds like a good plan.

Did anyone ever figure this setup out?

I went with the digital window switch (no rpm pills) and the ASCO solenoid $145 for both
