there's some misinformation going on in here. I have TT Bassetts, ran it with the Bassett tee until a few weeks ago when I switched it out to a Banderlog valve.
With the Bassett tee, you must run the dumps to the collectors to keep the rubber hoses from burning. Running it any other way is just running on borrowed time.
You also need a gate valve between the Bassett tee inlet and where you have it coming out of the engine, usually the thermostat housing. One side of the thermostat housing goes to a tee and then each side of that tee goes to each collector.
The other side of the thermo housing goes to a valve and then to the Bassett tee. The valve is where you adjust the amount of water/pressure going to the Bassett tee which operates off water pressure. When you're in the water, you bring your idle up to about 1800 and start turning the valve until you see steam. Raise the idle to about 2000 and start letting off. The steam should stop right about 1800, if not readjust until it adjust until it does.
The tee valve is to help prevent bluing the headers and the water to the collectors is to prevent burning the rubber hoses.
The Banderlog valve is a very simple and easy plug and play item. It works off the tach signal to turn the water on and off at either 1500 or 1800 to the injectors only, you can also set it on the race only setting for no water. It has nothing to do with the cooling of the collectors. The Banderlog has a built in filter that's easy to check and clean when necessary and some people have install a prefilter for added filtration. People have also added prefilters to the Bassett to help it last longer also.
