Hey guys. Heading to the river tomorrow morning to pick up the boat to bring back and inspect. Long story short last summer boat halfway sunk. Got water in the oil so I drained it squirted wd40 In each cylinder and left it up there.
I was thinking of pulling the motor to check but I wanted to see if you guys thought I could just get away with a couple oil changes and good to go ? Any thoughts ? Thanks guys

I was in the same situation a few years ago. When it happened I drained the oil changed the filter added new oil and fired it to get the moisture out of the motor. Did that 2 more times and the motor was fine.

Pull it down. :sly:
You will be in it a gasket set and potentially a set of rings.
There will be rust in places that are going to cause further damage and destroy expensive parts.
Had you cleaned it up and got it running right away, I would say you will be OK, but being as it sat, I say no way.
Good luck....

How long did it sit? If I can't get them cleaned up in the same week, they come apart.....

Right away. It's the same motor that's in my dimarco. Put 11 hours on her this past summer. 👍👍👍👍

Well I finally brought the boat home and pulled the motor. Surprisingly it looks great. No rust in the bottom end at at and no water in the filter. Pulled the motor down and everything looked good. Gonna get some new gaskets and main caps and put it back together. I'll be painting the motor since I have it out. What do you guys recommend for paint ? I was thinking engine enamel ?

Replacement of main caps necessitates an align hone/bore.
I assumed you meant something else other than main caps.
