sooooo i got the engine in fixed the flwx plate starter grinding noise..but engine wont stay started unless ur holding key on constantly? any body got any suggestions? all are welcome lol

you got a couple wires cross up.
Power should be on before you bump the key.
Im no sparky though.

ok so thx beerjet...heres wat im working with...the ballast resistor is broke...so for now i hav no power to key aux...how do i bypass the resistor just to get her tuned untill i get new block or resistor?

Again, I dont do any kind of wiring but I wouldn't bypass it.
They aren't that much money, not enough to risk frying something else.
Hopefully someone with some kind of electrical know how can figure it out but the that's my .02 ....

Ballast resistor? What kind of ignition are you running? Points distributor??

i just down loaded a schematic of the wire block and thats wat they called...its the reset switch that controls over load to the wiring block...its a electronic ignition.

^ that sounds like a circuit breaker....you should have power to ignition (coil) during START (SOL) AND RUN (IGN) from ignition switch

Yes, so it is a circuit breaker so i need a new one, i have some wires fracked up because im not getting juice to IGN RUN side, only getting juice in START pos...When i turn key to RUN or AUX pos, i should see gauges jump. :banghead:

problem solved, just had some wires in the wrong place :screwy:. Thanks you all for the help..
