« on: August 29, 2024, 03:33:48 PM »
Good day
I have a 19 foot Eliminator Daytona. with a BBC 468 cubic inch, iron Chevy square-port heads (GM performance). Berkley Jet with "A" impeller. Im running wet basset headers. Max RPM 5000 at this time at WOT.. I want to install a Roller cam Hydraulic lifters.  11.5-1 compression. tunnel ram twin 650 CFM carbs. What do the experienced members suggest? What are you running? I am having a hard time finding info for a correct camshaft. Any and all help is gratefully appreciated .THANK Barry B.

something like 224/229*  and .545/.545"  lift on a 108 will still make peak power around 5500 but im not sure you will want to go smaller on duration then that.  maybe install it with a couple more degrees of advance .  should put you over 500HP at that rpm

you dont need that much compression at this cam & RPM level with Iron heads.  I would keep it under 10:1 unless you like mixing race gas

Also, the square port heads had terrible valve jobs on the intakes from the factory.  you will want to go to a 2.25 intake so that you can get 3 to 4 angles on the seat of you havent done so already.
