So what's the best bet for a starter for my BBC in my Daytona 19. It's 11:1 compression, .30 over, dual quads, nothing too crazy.
Once the motor goes back in I can't get to the starter to change it out so I want to make sure whatever I use is going to last.
OEM starter or something marine specific, MSD, others?
Thanks, Walt

Be careful what you buy. A china no-name starter distributor will not swim out and push start your boat. I sell and promote American IMI high torque starters because they work and you can buy service parts for them when they wear out. 11.0:1 is above normal and you should buy a higher torque starter. Most china import starters are stock replacements and aren't designed to work with higher compression applications over 9.5:1. You should be able to buy an IMI starter for less than $250, and call someone in the US for straight talk tech. answers. Hope this helps.

On the pricey side, but I run a Meziere starter. Good for 7 or 8 hundred cubic inches.
You are able to clock the starter into different positions. Which may help in the tight situation have.
