Hey guys. So i have a bbf 460 and i want to check and adjust the timing. Im watching videos on youtube and most suggest the adjustment be done at 4000 rpm. How are you guys checking timing. I made a Y connection to deliver water to the motor and pump off the hose but my temp got too high. Ill be trying again with a new Y that has valve controls so i can deliver more water to the motor and just enough to the jet pump. Can i adjust the timing at idle ?

Depends on what distributor you have. also if running wet headers make sure you can turn water off to them when running city water pressure to the motor can push water into the cylinder. I have no vacuum to mine and motor is stock I set mine at 32@2000-2500rpm
