Title: BBF Build
Post by: simidan on September 21, 2011, 11:41:39 AM
So I have a good mid 70's 460 bored 30 over. Im looking to get 500+hp out of it. Whats it gonna take?
I have stock heads and crank but dont think, from what I've read, that these will help much.
I've seen aluminum heads on the web for $900 and up. Do I need aluminum? What make/model should I be looking for? Same goes for the rest of the build.
Should be easy enough without a blower right?
Theres plenty of questions I dont know to ask so just start punchin away.
And thanks.

Ok, looks like its fairly easy and financially doable to do this winter. Aluminum heads, forged pistons, rods, crank and complete roller assm. I think I can use my carb and intake. Of course theres bearings, gaskets, valve covers maybe, quality bolts, etc. that goes along with the rest of it.
So now I need to get the block prepped and start saving my pennies. Ill start shopping for parts in November.
