Title: BBF Canton pan set up
Post by: mrben157 on July 25, 2018, 07:05:14 AM
Hey guys so I am doing a rebuild on my 460 and am going to be putting a new oil pan on it. The plan is to go with the Canton 18-760 marine pan. What are you guys using for oil pumps and pickups with this pan?

Thanks

So I found the pickup from Canton for that pan.
How does this look for an oil pump?

You just need to match it up with your pick up tube. I had to use this one in order to duplicate and match my rear pick up https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mel-m84bhvs.

My current setup is the stock oil pump with the front sump pickup.
I want to go to a high volume pump and Canton makes this pickup designed for there marine pans.

Sounds like you may have had a different setup?

It’s similar. My pick up mounting surface is on an angle. Looks like you’ll be fine with the matching components .

Get a dooley pan And pick up  . I had a canton and the pickup up tube broke . Plus the design of picking up from the middle of the pan instead of the very back is not a good feature

One of the best deals going for full-length jet boat pans is Armando’s Oil Pans.  Their base model jet boat pan is a 10-qt deal, 7/8-inch OD pickup tube, has an integral windage tray, a great baffle/trap door system, etc. I use them in a lot of customer builds and srongly recommend you take a look at them before you buy anything.

Had dooley make me one of there new pans with the windage tray and scrapper (thats bolts in the pan not the main caps) 2 trap doors that moved freely  . Went to there shop with my kasse oil pump and had them fit it all for me before final assembly.  And after being welded to make sure nothing moved ,And it was done in 2 days . Couldn't ask for better service.  I needed it asap . They even powder coated it for me no charge .
