I need a 1310 driveline. Where can I get a complete one? I called a driveline shop but they asked me for measurements. I dont have my engine mounted yet cuz I figured I needed the driveline first to set the correct angle. Anyone have specs on what I need? All I have is the PTO which says 1310. Thanks

Not sure where your located but U&I auto in San Bernardino is really good with drivelines. Got a full driveline for my race truck for $50 and was balanced

If that is the case just buy an h-bar driveline from jetboatperformance, or any other online vendor.

Check out Just Electric’s 77 sprint redo again thread, http://www.socaljetboats.com/projects/77-sprint-redo-again/msg231505/#msg231505, he did a really nice job on his rail kit.  He had access to a really bitchen jig ah la Jim Brock for setup, but the same can be done with a bear block.  Anyway, you get the idea from the pictures on the driveline alignment.

Make sure that you leave at least 1/8” of gap from bottomed out on the pump shaft to account for hull flex.

You might check out Inland Empire Driveline.  A little closer to you than OC Driveline http://www.ocdriveline.com, but you might find OC’s prices a little better.  Both will ship to you, saving you the hassle driving.

If your engine will be set back all the way, it would be a good idea to have a driveline so that you KNOW how far to set the engine forward from the pump.

If you are setting the engine forward for C/G balance, then you will use a longer custom driveline.

Source a driveline and get the overall length measurement.  Measure from the bellhousing surface of the block to the crank flange (flywheel surface).  Add those two numbers together plus a minimum of 1/8” clearance (some like a little more), and that will determine the fore/aft location of your engine.  You could also mock everything up and then just push the engine/driveline forward the 1/8” minimum while you build your engine mounts.

The important thing is that you have some clearance between the yoke and the thrust bearing snap ring so that the pump shaft doesn’t push against your crankshaft causing your crankshaft thrust bearing (and complete engine) to fail.  FYI, the yoke on the pump shaft can be trimmed a little if you need some extra clearance, but be careful not to shorten the splines too much.  I like one shaft diameter (1.375) of spline engagement, although others have successfully run much less.
