What to you guys think about using one of these? There are always a lot of used chevy headers for sale but I can never find a set for the 460... I guess that means the Ford Engines outlast the headers ;D

I think for the additional $250 you'll pay for those you could probably find a nice set of BBF headers.
-
They are about $1000 new and I can't find one set for Ford's for sale right now at any price used. I have seen Chevy ones for sale for $200 in fair condition... today

I bought an old Challenger hull a couple of years ago and it had a set of the old bell stile headers in it. I was told they were for a Ford. The bells could always be cut off. If your interested I'll uncover the boat and check them out. Ron

Touche
Now if you've got access to, and you're handy with a cutting torch, you could very easily make your own, get some 3/8" flat plate, a set of BBF exh gaskets and some BBC exh gaskets, trace each set on the plate, make your cuts, grind them smoot, BAM! nowhere near $250

They need some cleaning up and a trip to the powder coaters.

That looks like a lot of work, I find BBF headers on e-bay all the time, somrtimes on craigslist.

I just did. I don't need them but if they are in batter shape than mine, I'll swap them out and sell mine.

Those look to me to be the Evans Racing Engines header adaptors. Of all the BBC-to-Ford header adaptors that I have known, I think the Evans Racing adaptors are by far the best ones available. The ports in these adaptors are well aligned and not misaligned like other brand adaptors. They don't restrict exhaust flow like the other adaptors and their as-delivered shape of the port (in the flange) allows them to be re-shaped to most any BBF head out there that utilizes the OEM passenger car port.
The advantage to them (and going to the BBC header) is not only the availability of the BBC headers but also because the BBC header's primary tube is not pinched at the header flange like the BBF header flange pinches its primary tube. By the way, with the other brand header adaptors this point would be moot because of the way that the other adaptors restrict exhaust flow.

How did it go?

They're up to $201.51 right now and 2+ days to go. I'll watch for now and see where they end up. If they go too high I may as well buy new ones and get the twisties that would rather replace mine with. Next year is coming ;) and I still have the hull, interior and trailer to work on.
