Over the weekend my boat started to fall on its face and was way under powered also was cutting out. Checked all the plugs only one looked like this. Any ideas on what it is ? Blow by ? There is some water under the valve covers. Don't know much about the motor just bought it a few months back. New to the jet boat world.

Start with a compression test. Could be a broken ring or blown head gasket.

Going to get into it tomorrow I'll start with the compression test. Thanks

Are those just pressed in there?
For the most part. Unless they are integral.

At least it happened at the end of the summer. And now I have an excuse to build a bigger motor haha

I'm hopefully going to build a BBC. After I get some work done on my pump.

Yeah I've always wanted to build one so might as well build it now. I will.

Just thinking, if you wanted to get a little more use out of it this season, I have seen a few threads posting Ford heads for sale. One I was able to find is: 460 Block, Crank, and Heads http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=22233.0
The piston really doesn't look too bad, with the worst being at 12-o'clock. You could probably run it as is, but if you were worried about a ring being pinched, I bet somebody has one of those pistons sitting around.
Good luck,
Joe

Thanks. But I'm going to just wait till I can get a new motor in. Plus I have to rebuild the pump before the new motor goes in.
