Title: cam timing

hello, talk to me about changing cam timing 2 degrees.  the guy who built my motor said, before he died, it needs to be advanced 2 degrees.  benefits?  I have good throttle response with dual 750s.  bogs a little off the go. thanks, justin

No offense bro....no where near enough info. FWIW, retarded cam timing lowers the dynamic compression ratio, for that matter going too far advanced would do the same thing. ;)

Motor?, where is it at now? what does the cam card say it should be?, rocker ratio's?

There is way more to it than just advancing the valve timing. In most cases if you have an OEM type late model timing set at "straight up" you may benefit from some more cam timing.
