Camshaft question

Need help on what can to use.

Boat is 74 Miller sprint no idea of weight

Motor specs-

454 my IV over .030
4” stroke
6.135 rods
Forged pistons 12cc dome
PC Heads not exactly sure on chamber I think they are 121 cc w/300 cc runners open chamber
Valve train Jewel rockers
Intake Hilborn 3” 8 stake MFI
Approx compression 9.5:1 with 30/50 quench
Goal for motor-

Pump Gas W/additive
Cruising RPM 4000/5000
Max RPM 6800/7200

Not concerned with pump right now plan on redoing it at end of summer.
Will end up being b/c impellerw/inducer droop

Want Mechanical solid roller just bed to know what grind I should use.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The easy answer is call the cam manufacturer that you like the best. Ie crower, crane, comp , and talk to one of there techs. They can give the best help. Most already have a specific cam grind for jet boats in chevy, ford , dodge , olds . And have a few different ones depending on the rpm range you want to run at.

You need to call Clay Smith Cams, George Striegel the owner. His shop is Buena Park. 714-523-0530. He has been around jet boat. He has been in business since 1969. Former National Champion in Comp Jet class. Look up Clay Smith Cams, on the internet. Flat ass knows his shit. Terry Nickel

Just curious why you are looking for such high revs and the B/C impeller with a 454? With a well built 454 and a standard A impeller cruising 3600 to 4000 rpm will be 45+mph and 5300 rpm will be 70+ easy.

you will need a lot of cam, springs and valve train stability to spin 7000 +
