Holley 4160 help

Anyone that knows about Holleys please. So as im putting everything back i realized that on the secondary side im missing the Metering plate BACKING PLATE. It was never there. Should be a gasket, Backing plate, gasket, metering plate not block like the primary then the float and bowl assembly. How bad is this going to be not having the backing plate

Thank you. Everywhere i looked it was called a backer or backing plate so i couldn't find it. I was going to call holley today

Well i learned more today. The backing plate is only necessary if the secondary side of the main has a power valve cavity on it which mine doesnt. It makes total sense in order the keep the gasket in check behind the metering plate.

Fyi everyone incase you like digging in and learning everything about something like me. The 4160 series of Holley carbs made different model numbers including 3310-1 thru 3310-11. From 3310-4 and up they got rid of the power valve cavity on the main secondary side which eliminated the need for the secondary blacking plate that goes behind the metering plate.

On another note i could up upgrade to a Metering block on the socondary side but thats just more tuning for a rookie like myself and it doesn't sound fun especially since i have a  Yamaha Banshee that always likes to be tuned

I did upgrade the vacuum secondary with an easy spring change cap. And will be playing with some springs to see if I can get the secondary to work better. Tanks are still on the back burner due to a lack of time. Hoping to just make it passed this season with these unless the overtime stays steady. Im probably making them to be honest.

we have a 750 Vacuum sec carb on my brothers commander 2100 with a 454, we have been playing with the secondary springs.  right now we have gone from the original black spring (which never fully opens) to the purple and now to the orange.  we might go back up one step as there is ever so slight a bog when the secondaries kick in. 

* results may vary *  haha, just to give you a starting point.
