Title: Can someone explain how...............

An engine, in this case a 502 BBC can run, and run to 5500 RPM with the following ills:

1. Broken Roller Rocker
2. Broken Rocker Stud
3. Broken Push Rod
4. 2 Bent Push Rods
5. Collapsed Lifter

DJ just called me, he's putting a Victor Jr on his boat, when he pulled the rocker covers that's what he saw on cyls # 1 & 3.  He hasn't ran the boat since we were out last Sunday.  I finally got the tune on the damn thing right and it was running great. How in the world is that possible with the aforementioned breakage?  ???

Dunno, but have seen it before, think about it, the engine still had gobs of compression... :sly:

My friend was in the proccess of getting his motor running and forgot to plug in the passenger side spark plug wires.
Fires it up, it's running, like shit, he scatches his head for a bit.
Shuts it off and takes a look around, sure as shit, plug wires are just layin there  :screwy:
Its when you break shit in the bottom end that a Chevy quites, until then......

I had a hole in one of my pistons and at idle you couldn't even tell.

Can someone explain how someone can drive a boat with that much engine damage and not notice ?

The crazy thing is it wasn't making any messed up noise was it acting like it was running shitty. I mena I did just buy the boat so it seemed to be running fine to me and timed ok. So who knows. It's all good now. and hopefully it stays that way all summer.

Unfortunately yes. I wish I could be buying back home in Paso, but work is here for now. so until dad retires I am stuck here. Which ins't bad either I can get twice the house here for the same price.

Around here they chase us normal fok away from the lakes with super high
taxes.   That's how they save it for the politicians and other rich folks.    :mad:
