I just put a 284 comp cams xtreme energy cam in my 460. My question is will a garden hose supply enough. Water to do break in procedure holding engine at 2000 rpms for half hour also will it hurt the jet I have heard many different things. Anyone actually did it?

I did mine on the trailer just disconnect the drive shaft and run the garden hose but don't turn on the water til the motors running and shut it off when you stop
-
did mine on the trailer as well, but, i turned the water on first to fill the block and check for leaks. do all checks prior to break in. you dont want to have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to fix shit.

I did several on a run in stand I made.

Why were the headers glowing? Basset T valve? Drivers seat header control (valve) would eliminate this.
Broke in last flat tappet cam going up river @ Big Bend, went about 200 +/- yards at 2000-2500 rpm, pump and headers had plenty of water 8)
