Is it "unwise" to run a car version of the quadrajet, or should I really get a marine version?

If you are running an engine cover you really should have a marine type carb on it. Even if you don't ever get inspected for coast guard approved equipment, the added safety of having the correct carb is worth the extra money required to get it.
Fires on boats can be life threatening very quickly.

All depends on which Quad. They made several versions of the Quadrajet. Even an electronic feedback version (you really don't wan that POS) :thumbdown:
