Tfs "mafia" intake. It out performs any ported victor intakes.

Had torker then went to performer...no difference. I am going to rpm port matched on my new 466 build (30 over) with 850 dp.

Weiand stealth seams to work pretty good for most of the ford guys I know.

Stealth Dual Plane

Ford Motorsport Single Plane "Spider design" Intake Runner with an 800 Holley is working well for me.

Great top end can still pull up skiers no problem (good low end)

I'm also running a spacer

Don't matter how much your intake flows at a point you need the Heads to keep up too...  .2$

If you're going to do a future bigger build get the tfs intake. Unless you are going to get a460 heads you can't beat the tfs intake. Plus they make an a460 intake version but the regular will work with your current heads and aftermarket eddies or ford racing scj. I'm using the scj heads with the intake and an 1150 carb. Exact same builds (including aftermarket internals) sit at over 700hp.

I'm using a stealth, great overall. Victor or one of the better single planes will make more hp, but I don't turn motor over 5k

best bang for your buck is going to be a torker2 used ones will run you around 100 bucks, this is all about combo...... some will be better than others, i went from a torker2 to a victor and gained nothing zero, zip, nada.. this was on my 466 that only turns 5200 rpm's.  i will have to try the torker on my 502 when i get it finished just for shits and giggles....

our jet pumps will absorb anything under 50hp so unless you are building a race deal your pump is going to eat up the hp that you will gain by using any different manifold. you did not state what you were building in the future so based on what you told me this is my experience with the 2 manifolds you asked about. the tfs is a nice piece, go look at the price then ask yourself can i put that money some place else

hope this helps

I went from a port o sonic to a tfs. Noticed quite a difference in the seat of the pants testing.

This is a really good topic, really!

Thanks Chris for bringing it up! Hopefully it gets some love and views from the newbs.

Any other engine, and even the 460 in a vehicle, an intake change is a noticeable improvement. The Marine 460, however, is another animal. Other than weight savings, "upgrading" from the cast iron Cobra Jet intake on them is a pretty tall order.

As far as dual planes go, the Weiand Stealth is the shizzle. Not that the others aren't good, but they won't do anything the original manifold didn't do and just not worth the trouble.

Jet Boats, for the most part, desire a single plane. The 460 is a unique challenge there in finding one that outperforms the stock, cast iron, 40 year old dual plane that Ford put on them. Upgrading cams quantifies the problem.

I really like B-Rads setup! But there's a lot of absolute junk out there. For instance, the original "Torker 460" is a piece of scrap aluminum, even in a street vehicle. Bigger port sizes on a small block Chevy intake and this is an engine that needs to breath. Ralph's results with his "Torker 2" are not surprising, but I've never dealt with one of those, personally. The "Performer" and "Performer RPM Air Gap" are good, but really offer nothing that the factory cast iron unit didn't deliver.

Now, on a street vehicle or 4x4, these may be a significant advantage over factory. But on a Jet Boat, not so much.

Paul would be the definitive authority with actual dyno info, but my "seat of the pants" reaction is that the only readily available "upgrades" out there would be the Eddie "Victor", the Trick Flow units, or the Ford Racing ones. All are single plane, and very dependant on porting, port matching, and cam selection, but that's the limited catalog I'd be looking at.

Just my .02, But Jon Kaase's ENTIRE 460 catalog should tell you something.........

It's a good topic, glad to hear from some other ford guys as I have just dropped the bow tie myself. Been spending a lot of time talking to Paul. It's even better getting a multitude of info from fellow members.

Tfs "mafia" intake. It out performs any ported victor intakes.
The OP has indicated that he is using an 850 cfm carburetor; the Mafia intake manifold has a 4500 series carb pad.  Perhaps you meant to recommend the TFS Track Heat (4150 carb pad) intake manifold.

The Mafia is does not "out perform any ported Victor intake" on all engine combinations.

There is no "best" intake manifold (or best head, or best oil pump, or best camshaft, etc), rather there is best suited for a given engine combo. Therefore, which manifold you choose depends on the engine combination in question...and you don't have your next engine combo yet (unless you do but did not specify).

If you currently have a Port-o-Sonic on your running 460 then I recommend you just stick with that until you are well into the build of your next engine combination. In other words, wait until you know precisely what you are building for the engine, then go get the intake that best matches the build combo.  Buying one now is not a great idea since most people change their combo several times before settling on the actual build.

The best all around manifold I've used is a victor in a jetboat application from stockish motors to strokers with big roller cams
